Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the CHATWAN application.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service. You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service.
Use of the Application
- User Account: You are responsible for safeguarding your account and the information linked to your Google ( gmail) account.
- User Content: You are solely responsible for the content you post on the CHATWAN application.

Prohibited Conduct: By using CHATWAN, you agree not to:
- Post illegal, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or violent content.
- Harass, intimidate, or impersonate other users.
- Post, share, or promote any child pornography, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any content that endangers the safety and well-being of minors.
- Use the application for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
"SHOP" Feature
Users can create a shop to sell items. CHATWAN is a platform that facilitates connections between sellers and buyers. We are not a party to transactions and assume no responsibility for the quality, safety, or legality of the items offered.
"BOOKS" Feature
Description of the Service
The "BOOKS" tab on CHATWAN allows users to publish, share, and make available their own digital works in PDF format. Authors may offer their books for free or set a price in US dollars. For paid books, a free preliminary reading is limited to the first 5 pages.
CHATWAN is Not a Payment Processor
CHATWAN does not process, collect, or transfer any payments in connection with the BOOKS feature. When a user wishes to acquire a paid book, CHATWAN's role is strictly limited to connecting the potential buyer and the seller through an internal messaging system. Any financial transaction is concluded directly and exclusively between the buyer and the seller, outside of the CHATWAN platform. CHATWAN collects no commission and assumes no responsibility for financial exchanges between users.
Author Responsibility
By publishing a book or any digital content on CHATWAN, you represent and formally warrant that:
- You are the original author of the published work OR you hold a valid license, explicit authorization, or all rights necessary to publish, distribute, and, where applicable, sell this content.
- The publication of your book does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy right, or any other third-party right.
- Your book does not contain illegal, hateful, sexual or pornographic, violent, defamatory, or otherwise harmful content.
- Your book does not contain content endangering the safety of minors (CSAM or similar content).
- The price you set for your book is freely determined by you and is not guaranteed in any way by CHATWAN.
Any breach of these warranties is your sole responsibility. CHATWAN reserves the right to remove without notice any book whose content is reported as unlawful or infringing upon a third party's rights.
License Granted to CHATWAN for Books
By publishing a book on CHATWAN, you grant CHATWAN a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and limited license to host, store, display the cover image, and make the PDF file accessible to other users of the platform, solely for the purpose of operating the BOOKS feature. This license does not remove any ownership rights you hold over your work.
Copyright Infringement Reporting (Books)
If you believe that a book published on CHATWAN infringes your copyright or that of a third party, you may report it immediately by contacting our team at: copyright@chatwanapp.com. Any valid report will result in the removal of the disputed content as soon as possible. Users who repeatedly publish content in violation of copyright law may face suspension or permanent deletion of their account.
Intellectual Property
The application and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of CHATWAN.
User Content & Copyright Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for any content they upload, including videos containing music.
By uploading content, you represent and warrant that you own all rights or have obtained all necessary licenses and permissions from the copyright holders.
Uploading copyrighted music without authorization is strictly prohibited. CHATWAN does not provide music licenses to users.
License Granted to CHATWAN
By submitting content, you grant CHATWAN a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, distribute, and display your content solely for operating and promoting the Service.
Copyright Infringement & Takedown Policy
CHATWAN respects intellectual property rights. Copyright infringement notices may be sent to:
Upon receipt of a valid notice, the content may be removed and repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CHATWAN from any claims or damages arising from your violation of copyright laws.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach the Terms.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall CHATWAN be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Changes
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes via an in-app notification or by email.
Reporting, CSAM Handling, and Safety Contact
Users can report content or conduct that violates our terms directly within the application using the reporting tools provided on posts and profiles.
All reports, especially those concerning child safety, are treated with the highest priority. CHATWAN has a zero-tolerance policy against any content that exploits or endangers minors, including but not limited to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We are committed to reporting all credible instances of CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or other relevant law enforcement agencies.
